This is such a versatile garment!

Leggings or tights are made from 4 way stretch lace with a soft ruffle at the bottom. Great for layering in winter or summer, I usually wear these under dresses with a jacket and boots.
Under a romantic wedding dress or a tunic, as pj's or a sexy undergarment.

    Linen, lace and old boots

My mojo finally returned from whatever sunny spot it was vacationing in...so in between spats with every sewing machine and serger in the house, I've actually been creating!
I have learned that yes, you really CAN made a garment without a serger.  I'm soooo spoiled...parts are ordered though...so I will win this battle!
My ruffler has gone missing....where in the heck could a ruffler get off to?

I'm blaming the cats of course....some kitty joke so I can't make ruffled rosettes....

hiding under that dog will NOT save you....ok...it probably did...

Anyway...I've been dreaming of linen and lace to go with some boots that I got at the thrift store last week...had these cream legging that just needed finishing up....so this three piece ensemble is what came out of the sewing room today! Finally!

I've had this outfit in mind for a while now and I have to admit, it turned out exactly as I imagined...even without the sewing machines cooperating!

I love the silk embellishments, I actually burned the silk to give it a vintage tattered feel.

Now to decide whether to make a tank to go under it and leave the jacket open or make a closure for the jacket.....hmmm...antique brooch maybe??...choices...

Truffling around in your great-aunts dusty attic, on a cold rainy day and in the corner you spy THE trunk. Holding your breath, you open it...pulling back the layers of tissue paper, scents from dried roses and lavender waft up... and there... in fragile silk and lace is the negligee/robe someone from the past lovingly made for her trousseau and just couldn't bear to throw away.

This chemise is made to give you the same feeling of wearing a piece of the past, with ruffles and vintage lace and velvet ribbon, it's the best of both worlds! Frayed edges and pieces of antique silk, sequins and laces, it's made to last and look vintage at the same time.

Dropped gathered shoulders, deep v neck, and elastic at the wrists, this is made to fit most sizes in a cream rayon fabric. You can sleep in these, belt them with leggings and boots or lounge around the pool in them.

They can be made in a variety of fabrics, contact me for a custom order!

Need one for a man with less frou frou, not a problem! These make great shirts for Renaissance fairs or theatre or just because your man wants a linen riverboat shirt.

    Peach jam and roses....

A lovely lady sent me some homemade peach jam this week through her daughter that I work with and have "adopted".  (Thank heavens she's already grown!)
So to give it the appreciation it deserves, I did something I haven't done in YEARS....

I had breakfast on my pretty shabby roses plates, with my lavender sachets scenting the room

and the last of my summer flowers in the rose room....

next to the rose nightgown that I made last week and is just to pretty to take off the mannequin!

The cat was confused with the change, but came along anyway!

So tell your other Mom "Thank you" for me Kyla!

If I get gifts for adopting you, it might not be such a bad thing....

    Last of my summer flowers....

    I love fall...the smells...the colors..I've dried my hydrangea blossoms...

started thinking of warm winter coats....

but I really hate to see the last of my flowers bloom..

I'll just have to keep them on my desktop to remind me that spring will be back!

    My bag has been bragged!!!

Well how much fun is this??

My bag has been bragged about on The Graphics Fairy's blog!

Brag Monday - Vintage Velvet Tote Bag & Paper Bird Lanterns

It's time for Brag Monday #53! Once again I'm bragging about two more projects from the last Brag Monday party.

First I'm bragging about this exquisite Vintage Velvet Tote Bag created by Brenda at The Wilted Magnolia! Brenda used the Poetry of Flowers Urn image from HERE , for this project. I'm so in love with this bag, you have got to stop by her site to see all of the different fabrics and all of the detail she put into this amazing bag!

I thought I had done everything....

When one gets to a certain milestone birthday (49 and I'm sticking to that!) you think you've pretty much done it all!  From skydiving to going across the country and everything in between.

    Then you get the invitation.
    To a Halloween party.
It's on one of my few nights off, with people I actually like....so I said "Cool, I'll be there".

If you know me well at all, you'll know this is highly unusual and suspect activity for me!
I prefer nights at home with my babies and a book or creating something for my shop or going to auctions.
I actually have just realized I've NEVER been to a Halloween party!  How odd is that?

So, no I'm not going to dress up in costume...really????...what would I be???...a fluffy, fifty (ish) Little Bo Beep?  Uh....no.

What I have been considering wearing (gotta wear something decent, might be a cute man there!)

is a variation of something "Joan" in Mad Men might wear.

Sexy and simple, vamp from the 50's attire.

I can SAY I'm in costume, still be comfy and not look completely like an idiot in a rabbit outfit.
