Purloined Cleome.......

Ah...ok...I'm confessing...these gorgeous Cleome flowers were purloined from a field down the road!

A friend of mine says if she ever loses me, she knows I'm on the side of the road picking flowers!

I've been eyeing these for a week or so, growing wild in an open field and of course, we know I just couldn't pick them in the daytime....I stopped at midnight on the way home....if there was a raised eyebrow smiley I would use it here!

Yes, it's in the middle of no-freaking-where.  A place where I always see deer, coyotes and bear at night.

And in I go....parked...left the motor running (for a quick getaway) , the lights on (so I can see the darn things) and windows down (so I could make a dash for the gun if I needed it)....grabbed my scissors...doesn't everybody carry those for flower picking in the middle of the night????

I'm knee deep in weeds and flowers...do snakes come out at night???....hmmmm...I'm giving this serious freaked out thought now...but I'm determined to have those flowers for my ancestors picture table!

All of a sudden, my engine goes into a higher pitch as the fan goes off....I jumped about 4 foot and immediately all those horror movies where the car comes to life and chases you down, suddenly seemed very REAL!!! LOL
I had prepared for EVERY eventuality but that one!

Needless to say....I saw no wild animals, didn't need the gun and the car did NOT come to life by itself!

I did finally make a quick getaway though.  Sheesh.

Love my French Robin's Egg Blue teapot....

With the French lace and ribbon....

And the package of vintage goodies I won!

Keeping the pink.....

My enablers must have had me on their minds yesterday!  I was trolling through my favorite thrift store, they buy left overs from yard sales, so this is not an easy thing.  I never expect to find anything and yet I've never left empty handed.  Whether we can chalk that up to my uncontrollable urge to collect or if they actually have good things..I'll leave that up to you to decide.

I always tell myself it's to put on ebay to resell...sigh...but then something like this comes along....

3 yards of Italian pink 35 inch velveteen!!!
Hanging out with dusty old comforters, ratty cotton throws....I snatched it, looked around to see if anyone had noticed that I was dancing in the aisle...nope...they were all digging in the kids toys...and ran to the cash register...paid the 1.50...gave them the change for the till....leaped into the car like a bad imitation of Luke and Duke in the Dukes of Hazzard and escaped with no one trying to wrestle it from my cold dead hands.

And that is how you KNOW you're not going to list it on Ebay!

Can't you just see pleated fluffy barckcloth pillows with velveteen edges?

Description

A romantic cape/capelet added to my Guinevere Collection!

Inspired by Alice in Wonderland's tattered gowns, this piece is covered in Georgette tatters, with swirls of handmade hat pin roses and top stitched down in swirls that echo the graceful shape of the wrap.

The base is vintage satin dyed silver and tied with a satin ribbon. These pieces are available as custom orders if you need different colors, sizes, etc. See my store for other options and styles.

This is an average size fits most. They can be ordered in xlarge.

This can be hand soaked or spot cleaned with cold water and soap and hung to dry. If you want to make it even more tattered, throw it in the dryer for a few minutes, it will continue to ravel and fray.

In the last photo you can see the different silhouettes for the wrap and the capelet. These can also be ordered without embellishment for bridesmaids, weddings, party's, or just wear for a romantic night on the town!

These can be made in any color and fabric combination! Goth, Steampunk, Romantic, Classic, etc. Feel free to contact me with any questions!

Custom orders can take up 14 business days.

Who says I don't have helpers?

Holding down the printer...who knows when that will run away!

And of course, the couch must be protected at all costs!
